Since then, there has been a lot of evolution in the company, and they started making different kinds of filters such as oil filters, air filters, engine air filters, cabin air filters, and some fluids.

The company has always been a leading giant in the name of oil filter producers especially. Fram has been ruling over North America for decades, and whenever the name of oil filters coins, Fram comes to the customers’ minds first.

Where Are Fram Oil Filters Made?

The first oil filtering element of the Fram filters was made in the Providence laboratory, so it is believed that the first oil filter, F1 (having a replaceable cartridge), was also made in the same laboratory only.

Over the years, Fram has expanded its roots in many countries, and in the year 1939, Fram opened its first branch plant in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and started the production of oil filters there. Following this, Fram started another plant at Greenville, Ohio, in 1951, and by this time, Fram had already begun producing air filters, so this plant was more focused on the production of air filters.

In the year 2015, Fram announced the expansion of its Greenville plant to produce its oil filters there as well. In 2019, First Brands Group(formerly Trico Group) took over the Fram group and became its parent company.
